A special thanks to my son for becoming a teacher and to the Fedex man for actually delivering in the rural area I live.

Not a spectacular sunrise, but the sun had not yet come over the horizon and was making blotches of light on the clouds.

Today I am positing a photo from a year ago. Yesterday was a bad camera day. First I tried to take photos of my son's dogs and couldn't figure out what was wrong with the camera, as I couldn't get the focusing right. Turns out I had left the lens on manual focus from the Advil shots. Then I tried a sunset. All photos had the horizon line dead centre and the sky turned out to be really not that interesting. Therefore, bad camera day.

The photo I chose for today is the same piece of stained glass that the advil from yesterday are sitting on. I had a little rack built at work that allows me to place a piece of glass on top and the background is approx 8" lower. Today's shot is simply a colored napkin. Yesterday's shot was a piece of red striped scrapbooking paper. Today's shot the light is coming from the top left, and yesterday the light came from the bottom. The clear Advil gels acted as little lenses and refracted the pattern below.

After a hard day, photography can be very therapeutic.

There's been fog the past few days with a frost build up on the trees in the yard. One year ago this pine tree was the subject I used for practice while trying to learn about exposure.
