An ice sculpture from "Ice on Whyte" in Edmonton. This was my first time photographing ice. Challenging but rewarding.

4 photos were taken of the carnations from the bouquet and following another tutorial by Gavin Hoey, I used photoshop to put them together in the photo booth style. His tutorials are not only teaching some of the neat things one can do, but some of the basic tools of photoshop.

A little bit of color. So tired of cold, so tired of white outside and so tired of winter. Stopped at Costco and spent $15.99 on a burst of color. The challenge now is, how many days can this bouquet provide me with new and exciting photo opportunities.

Continuing with the dissection and yellow. This one is also part of my homework assisgnment. The flower was lit from the left with natural sunlight and a flash was bounced off a reflector from the top right to eliminate the deep shadows in the center.

The dissection of the bouquet begins as I start to pull it apart. Two bouquets now instead of one. This photo is actually a crop from this photo http://wildelifephotography.com/Photography/2010-Other-Photo-Favorites/11036388_g4rW3#772106812_feG7Y that was taken as a homework assignment for adding reflective light. There are quite a few of these yellow mums that were hiding in the back of the original bouquet picture.

Once again inspired by Sam(tylwyydd) I chose this Scotch bottle and glass for side lighting. As the bottle has never been opened I didn't want an empty glass sitting beside it, so I tipped the glass. I was pleasantly surprised by the color of the Scotch reflecting in the bottom of the glass.
